Palestinians want UNSC to decide within 'two weeks' on UN membership

 New York : A leading Fatah official has said that, the Palestinians want the United Nations Security Council to decide on their bid for full membership of the world body within a fortnight. 

Lebanon's UN ambassador said the Security Council would convene on Monday to discuss the application after Abbas presented it to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday.

US and Pakistan agreed to limit troops


WASHINGTON: According to US officials the United States and Pakistan have reached a deal that limits the number of American military troops in Pakistani Territory, amid continued rancor between the two countries.

The presence of any US forces inside Pakistan is highly unpopular there, and became more so after the US military raid inside Pakistan to kill Osama bin Laden.

Pakistan Army Chief Doubts If Afghanistan is ready for pull-out


Seville : Army Chief of Pakistan has doubted if neighboring Afghanistan would be ready for international troops to leave by 2014 as planned. 

General Ashfaq Kayani told Reuters at a NATO Military Committee conference in the Spanish city of Seville, "Frankly, I have my doubts, No date can be a final date," he said.
