Libyan convoy with Qadhafi rumoured aboard crosses to Niger


SHISHAN:  There are reports of a Libyan military convoy with Moamer Qadhafi rumoured aboard has crossed into Niger, as new regime fighters were poised to strike at the toppled strongman’s last bastions. 

Qadhafi’s spokesman, Moussa Ibrahim, however insisted the fugitive dictator is in top health and planning his country’s defence, and that he and his sons were ready to fight to the death, though he gave no clue of their whereabouts.

NATO'S Libyan Mission comes closer to end: Rasmussen



BRUSSELS: Nato’s secretary general  has announced on Monday that the NATO Mission in Libya has moved significantly closer to success and will end soon.

Rasmussen told to a Press conference that “Our operation to protect civilians has moved significantly closer to success, but we are not there yet, I believe it will come soon".

Libyan Rebels Ultimatum is rejected by Gaddafi Loyalists


TRIPOLI : The Gaddafi loyalist have rejected the Ultimatum of Libyan rebels to surrender until Saturday or face military action against holdout towns. But Colonel Qaddafi’s chief spokesman was quoted on Wednesday as rejecting the deadline.Moussa Ibrahim said in a phone call to the headquarters of The Associated Press in New York that “no dignified honorable nation would accept an ultimatum from armed gangs."

Libyan Rebels announce to transfer their government to Tripoli


TRIPOLI: Libyan rebels have announced that they are transferring their their political leadership from Benghazi to the capital Tripoli, according to a senior official of the National Transitional Council.

“I declare the beginning and assumption of the executive committee’s work in Tripoli,” committee vice-chairman Ali Tarhuni told a press conference. “Long live democratic and constitutional Libya and glory to our martyrs.”

Libyan Rebels entered Inside Gaddafi's secret tunnels for the First Time


Tripoli : Libyan rebels have first time ever entered into one of the underground tunnels that Colonel Gaddafi is believed to have used in his escape. The gunmen forced their way in Tripoli after battling loyalists in the grounds of the dictator's compound.

They found a labyrinth of air conditioned tunnels leading into the darkness. Along the route was a bunker containing a food supplies, beds, and gas masks.

Arab League Backs Libyan Rebels as they Fight their Final battle


Tripoli : According to reports Libyan Rebel reinforcements have rushed into the Libyan capital to join in the fight against Muammar Gaddafi loyalists, who are putting up strong resistance in some pockets of the city. The rebel Fighters from the port city of Misrata have joined fellow rebels who entered dared this weekend assault that saw the Libyan capital swiftly overrun and Gaddafi's Bab al-Aziziya compound falling in rebel hands.

Rebel Flag hoisted at Libyan Embassy in Pakistan


ISLAMABAD: The Libyan Embassy in Pakistan has raised the rebel flag above its compound in Islamabad following the fall of Moammar Qadhafi’s 42-year autocratic regime.

The red, black and green flag emblazoned with a white crescent and star fluttered in the breeze Thursday under overcast skies. The flag used under Qadhafi was solid green.

Libyan people abroad has been deflecting from Old regime and swithing towards Libyan rebels as rebels start zeroing Tripoli.

Libyan rebels 'take control' of central Brega, Put eye on Tripoli


Benghazi : Libyan rebels have reportedly taken control of the centre of the oil-rich eastern town of Brega, located east of Tripoli.

"It was in the early hours of Saturday morning that opposition forces were able to take the centre of Brega, They were holed up in residential districts outside the town for a couple days. Very early on Saturday morning they moved in." reported by an Arabic Journalist.
