Rebel Flag hoisted at Libyan Embassy in Pakistan


ISLAMABAD: The Libyan Embassy in Pakistan has raised the rebel flag above its compound in Islamabad following the fall of Moammar Qadhafi’s 42-year autocratic regime.

The red, black and green flag emblazoned with a white crescent and star fluttered in the breeze Thursday under overcast skies. The flag used under Qadhafi was solid green.

Libyan people abroad has been deflecting from Old regime and swithing towards Libyan rebels as rebels start zeroing Tripoli.

Pakistan Cricket Star Muhammad Aamir again Warned for playing cricket


MUMBAI: Banned cricket star and pace bowler Mohammad Amir has again escaped further punishment as he violated his five year ban by playing for an English amateur side in a league match in this June but he was cautioned and warned over his future conduct by International Cricket Council (ICC) .

“Mohammad Amir has been warned and has been provided with further clarification as to the terms of his suspension,” an ICC spokesman said.

Kidnapped Italians Reporters freed in Libya


MILAN: The Italian Foreign Ministry confirmed that four Italian journalists taken at gunpoint in Libya were freed after a raid on the house where they were being held on Thursday.

The four were taken at gunpoint along with their Libyan driver who was killed on this Wednesday by forces loyal to the regime of fugitive Libyan dictator.

Hurricane Irene marks first big US threat in years



MIAMI: US faces a new weather threat since three years as rapidly intensifying hurricane Irene which has already cut a destructive path through the Caribbean.

According to predictions by the US National Hurricane Center in Miami the Irene was likely to become a major Category 3 hurricane Tuesday.

England whitewashed the Test series by 4-0 against India


Oval : England white washed the Series on a dramatic final day at the Oval as India collapsed during the afternoon session. Although Sachin Tendulkar and Amit Mishra added 144 for the fourth wicket, but once Swann made the breakthrough the rest of India's resistance crumbled. The innings folded within 15 overs with England winning by an innings and eight runs to gave humilation defeat to India.

Libyan rebels entered Tripoli, West Call Gaddafi to Surrender


TRIPOLI : Western leaders call Libya’s Moammar Gaddafi to surrender Monday after hundreds of rebel fighters swept into Tripoli and secured control of most parts of the capital, heralding an end to his nearly 42-year rule as rebels surrounded Gaddafi’s headquarters and reports of his son Saif al-Islam captured.

Gaddafi loyalists were still holed up in and around the Bab al-Aziziya headquarters where the Libyan leader lived, and there were reports of fierce battles there Monday morning, indicating that the fight was not yet over.
