Malik requests judicial enquiry into Zulfiqar Mirza's Allegations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik asked Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani in a Fax, requesting an investigation into the allegations levelled against him by former Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza.

Prime minister Syed Yousaf Gilani confirmed receiving a fax from interior Minister told the media that the request will be reviewed tomorrow.

In the letter, Rehman Malik has requested the Prime Minister to form a judicial commission to probe the allegations against him. He said he wished to present his side of the story in front of the commission in a public hearing.

Earlier, while addressing a massive public gathering in Lyari, Mirza claimed he had apprehended target killers from ‘sector offices’ with heavy arms and ammunition but had to release them on Malik’s orders.

Mirza alleged that Malik had warned him that the army and the ISI would topple the government if the target killers were arrested.

Calling the federal interior minister a “Jewish and an American agent working to destroy Pakistan,” Mirza said Malik’s “drama would continue until the disintegration of Pakistan.”

Zulfiqar Mirza has also alleged Rehman  Malik that he has been misinforming to Benazir Bhutto earlier and doing the same with the president and prime minister now.
