Thar coal gasification project will start in next month


KARACHI: Thar Coal gasification project is due to start in next month by carrying the first test burn at the underground coal gasification project in Tharparkar. Two foreign companies, one each from China and Australia, have expressed interest in Thar coal deposits to produce 2,000 megawatts of electricity, told Project chairman Dr Samar Mubarakman.

Tripoli : Zero hour has started, as rebels claimed, explosions and gunfire rocked Tripoli through the night as opponents of Muammar Qadhafi rose up in the capital, declaring a final push to topple the Libyan leader after a six-month war reached the city’s outskirts.

A defiant Qadhafi said an assault by “rats” had been repelled. “Those rats … were attacked by the masses tonight and we eliminated them,” Qadhafi said in an audio message broadcast over state television early on Sunday.

Spying in Iran, US hikers Sentenced eight years Prison

Tehran : Two American hikers were sentenced to eight years in prison for illegal entry and spying for a US intelligence agency in Iran, according to Iranian state television.

“Shane Bauer and  Josh Fattal, the two detained American citizens, have been each sentenced to three years in prison for illegal entry to the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the television reported on its website.

Pakistan permitted China to see Crashed US Stealth Helicopter



Islamabad : According to Financial Times, Pakistan gave China access to the previously unknown U.S. "stealth" helicopter that crashed during the commando raid that killed Osama bin Laden in May despite explicit requests from the CIA to not expose the Secret Helicopter.

The disclosure, if confirmed, is likely to further shake the U.S.-Pakistan relationship, which has been improving slightly after hitting its lowest point in decades following the killing of bin Laden.
