Libyan Rebels Ultimatum is rejected by Gaddafi Loyalists

TRIPOLI : The Gaddafi loyalist have rejected the Ultimatum of Libyan rebels to surrender until Saturday or face military action against holdout towns. But Colonel Qaddafi’s chief spokesman was quoted on Wednesday as rejecting the deadline.Moussa Ibrahim said in a phone call to the headquarters of The Associated Press in New York that “no dignified honorable nation would accept an ultimatum from armed gangs."

August the Deadliest Month Ever In Afghan war

Washington : The month of August has claimed the lives of 66 U.S. service members in Afghanistan. According to The Associated Press that makes August the deadliest month in the nearly 10-year-old war. The previous record was in July 2010, when 65 service members were killed.

August's number includes the 30 American troops killed on Aug. 6, when insurgents shot down a Chinook helicopter.

Obama's Arrested Uncle is a Fugitive

FRAMINGHAM - President Obama's unlce who was arrested here last week on drunken driving and other charges has been a fugitive from deportation since 1992, according to two federal law enforcement officials with knowledge of the case.

Onyango Obama, who is from Kenya and is known as the president's Uncle Omar on his father's side, had lived a quiet life in Massachusetts until last Wednesday, when police said the car he was driving darted in front of a police cruiser, nearly causing the officer to hit his car.

US Muslims find Themselves the victim of Monitoring and Abuse

WASHINGTON : In a new poll carried out by Pew Research Center in US most of the Muslim-Americans say government antiterrorism policies single them out for increased surveillance and monitoring, and many report increased cases of name-calling, threats, and harassment by airport security, law enforcement officers and others.

More than 52 percent of Muslim-Americans surveyed said their group is singled out by government for terrorist surveillance. Almost as many - 43 percent - reported they had experienced harassment in the past year, according to the poll released yesterday. That share of people reporting harassment is up from 40 percent in 2007, the first time Pew polled Muslim-Americans.

Taliban will not Participate in Bonn Conference, Mullah Omer

Kabul : In an Eid message, the Taliban Leader Mullah Mohammad Omar said that the Taliban will not participate in Bonn Conference as it is only symboic and Afghanistan will not be represented by genuine representatives of Afghans in Bonn Conference.

He further siad that the topics that will be discussed at Bonn conference have already been decided upon in Washington and in the Pentagon. He expressed his opposition to the establishment of permanent US military bases in Afghanistan.

Bomb Blast in Quetta, Several Injured

Quetta : A bomb blast occurred in Quetta city's Gulistan Road area in which several vehicles caught fire and there  are reports of several injuries. 

The injured are being shifted to hospitals and rescue work has been started.
